PHOTO DIARY VI – NEW YORK

Hey guys! On the sixth day we headed for breakfast to Brooklyn to 12 Chairs Cafe -restaurant of which I posted earlier. Even though Brooklyn is a safe place nowadays I need to admit that at some parts of the city district I felt a bit unsafe. The reason was probably that we had spent the five previous days at Manhattan and there is a huge difference between those two districts. There were no skyscrapers at Brooklyn, haha.

After the breakfast we headed to Brooklyn Bridge and we decided to walk. We should’ve checked the distance from a map before leaving because we had to do a good 5 kilometer trip by feet. We also got lost to some religious neighborhood and afterwards we read that the people there are not happy about other people of women there.

On the way we found a food store that I fell for because, for example, every single fruit was placed well to their own space. The eye of a perfectionist was resting… More pictures below!

Hellou! Kuudentena päivänä suunnattiin aamupalalle Brooklyniin, 12 Chairs Cafe -ravintolaan, josta postasinkin teille aiemmin. Vaikka Brooklyn nykyään on turvallista seutua niin täytyy sanoa, että tunsin silti oloni tietyillä alueilla melko turvattomaksi. Ehkä syynä oli se, että olimme viisi päivää viettäneet kokonaan Manhattanilla ja ero noilla kahdella aluella on suuri… Brookylnillä ei nimittäin hirveästi näkynyt pilvenpiirtäjiä, haha.

Aamupalan jälkeen lähdettiin kävellen kohti Brooklyn Bridgeä ja siitä tulikin ihan kivan mittainen lenkki,  noin 5km. Olisi ehkä kannattanut ensin tarkistaa etäisyys kartasta, haha. Eksytiin matkalla jonnekkin erittäin uskonnollisille seuduille, mistä luettiin jälkeenpäin, että sinne ei hirveästi turisteja tai naisia kaivata (porukassamme oli yksi nainen). Monet kadut Brookylnissä oli ihan autioita ja talot pimeineen ikkunoineen sen näkösiä, että kohta jostain tuijottaa aseen piippu.

Löydettiin matkalla myös ruokakauppa meikäläisen makuun, nimittäin jokainen hedelmä oli aseteltu tarkasti omalle paikalleen. Kyllä tällaisen perfektionistin silmä lepäsi… Kuvia siitäkin löytyy alta!
